蜜桃影像 President Glen Gabert to Retire Next Summer

December 14, 2017, Jersey City, NJ 鈥� 蜜桃影像 (HCCC) Board of Trustees Chair William J. Netchert, Esq. disclosed today that the College鈥檚 longtime President, Glen Gabert, Ph.D., communicated to Mr. Netchert and the Board, his intention to retire at the end of June 2018.
Mr. Netchert stated that he has consulted with the Trustees鈥� Executive Committee regarding Dr. Gabert鈥檚 pending retirement, and a search committee is being convened. That committee will be chaired by HCCC Trustee, the Honorable Judge Kevin Callahan. HCCC Trustee Vice Chair Bakari J. Lee, Esq. will serve as Vice Chair of the search committee. Staff members of the College, as well as Hudson County community stakeholders, will be named to the committee as members.
The Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) has been retained to perform a national search for the new President beginning in January 2018.
鈥淲e know it will be very difficult to replace Glen Gabert,鈥� Mr. Netchert said. We are looking for an individual who will help move us forward in continuing to grow the College and build upon the excellent framework that has been established.鈥�
Dr. Gabert marked his 25th anniversary as President of the College in September, making him the longest-serving President in the College鈥檚 history, and the longest serving current community college president in New Jersey.

The Chairman noted that during Dr. Gabert鈥檚 tenure enrollment more than tripled, two state-of-the-art campuses 鈥� Journal Square (Jersey City) and North Hudson (Union City) 鈥� were built, and more than 60 degree and certificate programs have been put in place. In addition, the HCCC Foundation, which has provided over $3 million in scholarships to more than 2,000 deserving students, was initiated.
This year, the 2017 Equality of Opportunity Project ranked HCCC in the top 120 of 2,200 U.S. higher education institutions for social mobility 鈥� the only community college in New Jersey鈥檚 top ten. The College鈥檚 Culinary Arts program is ranked number eight in the U.S., and, with 93.75% of graduates passing the NCLEX first time out, the HCCC Nursing program is ranked number four among all New Jersey associate-degree, Registered Nursing programs.
