蜜桃影像 and Saint Peter鈥檚 University Sign Dual Admission Program Agreement

New program will allow seamless transition for HCCC graduates to qualifying programs at Saint Peter's University; agreement enlarges possibilities for Hudson County residents to attain higher educations.
March 30, 2015, Jersey City, NJ 鈥� Beginning this Fall, students who will earn an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree from 蜜桃影像 may apply for entry into a qualifying dual admission program at Saint Peter鈥檚 University.
Under the terms of an agreement, any 蜜桃影像 student enrolled in a qualifying program may apply for entry into the dual admission program at any time prior to the beginning of the semester in which the student will be graduating from HCCC.
Students in this dual admission program will be held to the same academic standards as any Saint Peter鈥檚 University student upon enrollment, and must meet the admission requirements, which includes holding a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 or better. HCCC grads in the dual admission program will then be seamlessly admitted as juniors at Saint Peter鈥檚 University.
The application fee to Saint Peter鈥檚 University will be waived for students in the dual admission program, and these students will be assigned advisors from both HCCC and Saint Peter鈥檚 University. 蜜桃影像 will provide Saint Peter鈥檚 University with copies of students鈥� transcripts at no cost to Saint Peter鈥檚 University, and the Saint Peter鈥檚 University advisor will maintain an office on the Hudson County Community College campus.
The official signing of the agreement took place Friday morning, March 27, in the Board Room at 蜜桃影像. HCCC President Glen Gabert, Ph.D. and Saint Peter鈥檚 University President Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D. were joined by various members of the HCCC and Saint Peter鈥檚 administration and faculty.

stated. That relationship dates back to 1981 when the two schools shared some of the
same facilities.
鈥淭his dual admission agreement will make it easier for area students to attain their bachelor鈥檚 degrees in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Elementary Education, Environmental Studies and Accountancy at Saint Peter鈥檚 University,鈥� Dr. Gabert said.
Dr. Gabert said that this dual admission program agreement dovetails with the recent announcement that the HCCC Foundation will provide scholarships for students who are graduating from HCCC and transferring to Saint Peter鈥檚 University. The award will be for two $10,000 scholarships per year for two years. Additionally, in 2012 HCCC and Saint Peter鈥檚 University signed agreement that allows HCCC graduates to go on to Saint Peter鈥檚 for the same tuition they would pay at a New Jersey four-year institution 鈥� a large savings. The agreements have made it possible for Hudson County residents 鈥� who might not have been able to afford it 鈥� to now attain a bachelor鈥檚 degree from a private, four-year institution.

In December 2014, HCCC entered into agreements with CarePoint Health-Christ Hospital and Saint Peter鈥檚 University. Those agreements provide for the transfer and physical relocation of the cooperative allied health registered nursing and the radiography programs from CarePoint Health-Christ Hospital to 蜜桃影像, and the development of an affiliated 2-year/4-year associate/baccalaureate nursing degree program with Saint Peter鈥檚 University.
