蜜桃影像 Foundation to Offer $10,000-per-Year Scholarships for HCCC Grads Transferring to Saint Peter鈥檚 University

HCCC Foundation to make formal presentation the afternoon of March 11th at 蜜桃影像.

 

March 10, 2015, Jersey City, NJ 鈥� 蜜桃影像 (HCCC) President Dr. Glen Gabert has announced that the College鈥檚 Foundation will provide scholarships for students who are graduating from HCCC and transferring to Saint Peter鈥檚 University (SPU). The award will be for two $10,000 scholarships per year for two years.

蜜桃影像 will hold a check presentation to memorialize the scholarship agreement with Saint Peter鈥檚 University on Wednesday afternoon, March 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fourth Floor Board Room at 蜜桃影像, 70 Sip Avenue, Jersey City, NJ. Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D., President of Saint Peter鈥檚 University and Rebecca D. Kalejaye, Manager, Corporate and Foundation Relations of SPU, will join Dr. Gabert, HCCC Vice President for Development Joseph Sansone and HCCC Foundation Chair James Egan for the check presentation.

鈥溍厶矣跋� has always worked with Saint Peter鈥檚 University to provide the people of our community with extraordinary opportunities that will benefit them and their families in the long term,鈥� Dr. Gabert said. For example, Hudson County Community College already has an understanding in position that allows HCCC graduates to transfer to Saint Peter鈥檚 University for the same tuition as they would pay at a New Jersey state four-year institution 鈥� a large savings for HCCC graduates.

Students who wish to apply for the HCCC Foundation scholarships must meet the following criteria:

  • Student must be a graduate of 蜜桃影像;
  • Student must enroll as a full-time student at Saint Peter鈥檚 University, and maintain full-time enrollment status;
  • Award is for two students. Each student may receive up to $5,000 for each semester for a maximum of $10,000 for each student in one year, for a total of $20,000 per year;
  • Student must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher to apply for the scholarship;
  • Student must have academic recommendations supplied by the Office of the Academic Affairs Vice President;
  • Students will be chosen for this award by Saint Peter鈥檚 University from the nominees supplied by 蜜桃影像 Office of Academic Affairs; and
  • Award may be continued for a second year, provided the student maintains a minimum GPA of 3.5, and contingent upon availability of funds.
