Journalist and Best-Selling Author Lee Woodruff to Appear as Speaker at Hudson County Community College鈥檚 Lecture Series

January 17, 2013, Jersey City, NJ 鈥� Noted journalist and author Lee Woodruff will be the featured speaker in the most recent installment of 蜜桃影像鈥檚 Lecture Series on Thursday evening, February 7, 2013. Ms. Woodruff will appear at 6:00 p.m. at the College鈥檚 Culinary Arts Institute/Conference Center, 161 Newkirk Street in Jersey City 鈥� just two blocks from the Journal Square PATH Station. There is no charge for admission. The theme for this season鈥檚 series is 鈥淭he Power of Women.鈥�
Ms. Woodruff is likely best known for the book, In an Instant: A Family鈥檚 Journey of Love and Healing, which she co-authored with her husband, the ABC-TV journalist Bob Woodruff. The critically acclaimed book chronicles the Woodruff family鈥檚 recovery after Mr. Woodruff suffered a traumatic brain injury while he was embedded with the U.S. military in Iraq in January of 2006. She has most recently authored Perfectly Imperfect: A Life in Progress, a reflection on her marriage and life, and Those We Love Most, a novel about a family鈥檚 dealings with life and tragedy.
A freelance writer and former public relations and marketing expert, Ms. Woodruff has also written several articles about her life and parenting for Country Living, Health, Redbook and Parade magazines. As a contributing editor to the CBS This Morning television program, Ms. Woodruff reports on a variety of home and family-related topics and current events.
Ms. Woodward and her husband founded the Bob Woodruff Foundation after he sustained his injuries in Iraq. The foundation is dedicated to providing resources and support to injured service members, veterans and their families, and has raised more than $14.5 million for their cause. The Woodruffs have appeared separately and together on national television and radio to help put a face on the serious issue of traumatic brain injuries among returning Iraq war veterans as well as the millions of Americans who live with this life-changing affliction.
